My Review – Two Women Walk into a Bar by Cheryl Strayed

I can’t remember exactly where I picked up this from. With it being an Amazon original, it may have come in an email. But I’m more inclined to think I heard the author talking about it on the radio.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read non-fiction. This memoir was interesting as the author talks about her relationship with her mother in law. Especially now that the latter is dying, she is able to look back on their life together. Despite the subject matter, it isn’t in the slightest bit morbid. Just the opposite as humour is constantly present. It reminded me a lot of my mother in law who was also called Joan. I could relate to much of it.

Overall, this is a great little read. If you’ve half an hour to pass while travelling or waiting, this is an ideal way to fill it.
