My Review of Grip of a Panic by Sam J. Fires

I had the honour of reading an advanced reader copy of this book. I subscribe to the author’s newsletter and when she mentioned her ARC team, I asked if I could join. So it’s always worth asking your favourite author. The odds are they will be thrilled to have you on board.

This is the fourth book of this superb post-apocalyptic series by the amazing Sam J, Fires. The main characters are Pat, an ex-cop, and Holly, an ex-hospital patient.

In the previous book, we met Pat’s wife and their two children. In Grip of Panic, they are together fighting the cold temperatures, the heavy snow, and the lack of power, fuel, and transport. Then there is Julian, the nurse on a bike who is intent on dragging Holly back to the hospital so the evil doctor can continue her medical experiments.

Overall, this is a captivating storyline where the tension builds slowly and reaches a truly explosive ending. This is another superb collection of novellas for readers of this genre to love.
