News from Karen’s Writing Desk
Welcome to my monthly newsletter. Hot of the Press contains my writing and reading news and a few selected books I’ve read and enjoyed.
Publishing News!
All my books are published through Norns Triad Publications. Play the Game, is next on Julie, my editor’s list, and we should start editing that very soon.
The Sound of Evil is the second book of The Cassidy Newbold Clairvoyant Collection and has been passed to Sahara who is editing that one for me. I’m now working the final edits of the third book. The Killer on the Heath is the first of the series, and available now.
This month I’m also working slowly through Toxic, my dystopian novella, to separate it from Karina Kantas’s version. We originally had it as one book with only certain parts that were different. Once I’ve done that, it needs a full rewrite and probably won’t re-emerge next year.
Reading News
I’ve completed two first books of different apocalyptic series, a psychological thriller, a third, and eleventh story of separate series, and a book about dinosaurs. One of them was difficult to read, and two others were advanced reader copies.
I’ve kept my reading journal up to date and am currently creating one ready for next year. That’s been fun.
There wasn’t an outstanding favourite until the very last minute. That would be Chaos Rising, a terrific read. I had to immediately download the next book.

Even though I say it myself, our newsletter is outstanding. It’s colourful, eclectic, and filled with great books and articles.
Norns News
We are working really hard behind the scenes with our authors to edit and publish new books. The second in the Inspired Kids series, Look at Me is now released and A Rhyme in Time is on preorder for November. Boomer, The Oil Change and Nightmare Storm, all won at the Bookfest Awards, which was a real thrill for us.

For cousins Jenna and Hannah, life is anything but ordinary.
When Jenna loses her parents in a tragic accident, their lives in Washington’s Snoqualmie Valley change in unexpected ways. Despite the changes, Jenna still finds love with a mysterious young man she once believed was Hannah’s imaginary friend.
Tall, dark and hairy, Adam brings to light rumors of Bigfoot. Can science explain his appearance? Is he really a supernatural creature, like some people propose? Or, is he just as human as anyone else?
