This is the second book of After the End series, and I’m enjoying them, if indeed that’s the right word. Maybe I should say entertained.
It continues the story of Pat, the ex-cop, and Holly, an ex hospital in-patent who are thrown together. They each have their secrets and in this book Holly now knows his, but hers is yet to be revealed. The world is gradually falling apart around them as they travel across town.
What I didn’t like, was the endless snow. Those poor people, it really added to the atmosphere. I felt the chill of their desperation as they fought the elements.
Overall, I love stories of survival and the author once again has brought us something special. What I also really liked is that each of the books are novella length, so you can devour the whole set easily.
