My Review of Fight or Flight by Martin Davidson

I searched Amazon for a book that featured Anglesey and this one came up. It’s 171 pages, and a great length to read over a couple of days,

The author clearly loves Anglesey as his description of it being a beautiful area with stunning beaches was spot on. As a bonus the story began in Manchester, another area I know. I could picture all of the places mentioned.

What I didn’t like was the excess use of exclamation marks through the book. Also, the limited vocabulary of protagonist, DI Evans. Each time he used an expletive it was the same one over and over again.

Overall, this is a well plotted and thought out novella. I enjoyed the police procedure, and the fast paced action. The drug running kept the police dashing over the Welsh borders and at one point it looked like the criminals were winning. For me though, I couldn’t connect with the characters, and felt I was thrown into their lives before I could get to know them first.
