Book Review of The Retreat by Phil Price

I found this on a Facebook post. Phil Price put his book details in the comments, and I thought it sounded interesting, so I downloaded it.

I didn’t remember what the book was about by the time I came to read it. The beginning immediately grabbed me and slowly I realised it was a cleverly crafted thriller. I enjoyed the different main characters who each had a tale to tell. Slowly, the pieces came together as the story revealed itself. By then I was sucked in and eagerly turned the pages to find out what happened.

There was nothing I didn’t like, except maybe repeated words that confused me a bit.

This is a great thriller with an excellent storyline. There are lots of red herrings that kept me guessing. All of it led to an explosive climax. I couldn’t stop reading until I found out how it ended – who lived and who died. Readers who love twists and turns, are going to enjoy this one.
