Karen’s Magic Review

Having read A Prisoner Within and Tally, it was hard to imagine the same person wrote this story because it is completely different. If it wasn’t for the writing style I would have had my doubts. It’s amazing how one writer can tell stories across the genres in this way, and I take my hat off to the author.

However, I didn’t enjoy this one as much, yes, it was beautifully told with some great characters. In a way it reminded me a little of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series but the characters didn’t hold me as much. I think the reason for this was because it’s a Young Adult book. I needed something a little more gritty. As it was Book 1 in a series, I felt it was setting up storyline and characters for future books.

All the reviews I saw are good and so they should be, it is literally down to personal taste. Having said that, I did read the whole book. Had it not been engaging, I would have stopped reading.

So, it is worth checking out, it could be the series that you are looking for.
