What is the book about?
It’s a different take on the Lee Harvey Oswald shooting of President Kennedy.
Is it a series?
No, this is a standalone book.
Are there further books available?
This seems to be Elizabeth Horton-Newton’s first novel. I have read some of her short stories and she is a great writer who knows how to hold the reader.
How easy was the book to read?
Nice and easy.
Karen’s Magic Review
I won this in a Facebook competition. It was at a book event and the author was hosting an hour. Up for grabs was this and I was lucky to be given an electronic copy.
The heroine is 60 years old and it’s a romance story. Had I known that, I might not have fancied reading a romance with two old people. So many main characters are young and actually when you get into the person’s head, it makes no difference what age they are. I really liked Olivia and could identify with her in the same way I would a younger person. So age doesn’t come in to.
I hadn’t realised there is conspiracy theories surrounding the shooting of Kennedy. Having said that, it is by no means a political book. It tells of what would happen if Lee Oswald had lived. How would his life have turned out?
It is also a story of romance which just happens to have a great back story. I really loved it. A thriller with twists and turns that kept me guessing from the start and more importantly kept me reading to the end.
What I liked best:
Olivier, the main character. She is just a great person.. Older people are just the same as a younger people with their thoughts and feelings. I actually liked the way she was wiser about life, as one would be at the age.
And the rest:
I don’t think the book cover does the story any justice. I found a second cover on Amazon for it and that didn’t seem much better. It’s a shame because the story is so good, it needs the cover to attract the reader from the get go.
