He’s Joanna’s closest friend, but as their friendship deepens, she begins to question whether a man with a reputation for breaking hearts could ever change.

The inspiration for Joanna’s Journey story came from a performance I saw on television in 1984. A young German singer called Nino de Angelo sang “Guardian Angel” at the Montreux Golden Rose Pop Festival. I was mesmerised by both his looks and his stunning, unusual voice.

I wrote Joanna’s Journey story over many years as it gradually evolved. Its original title was Starstruck, but I soon realised it had become so much more than that. It was the first novel I published in 2014. Back then, I was a new writer who knew very little about writing or publishing. I simply wanted to tell my story.
After a title change, the novel sold well until I decided to withdraw it in 2018. I felt the story needed to place greater emphasis on the relationship between Joanna and Niko. During the years that followed, I honed my writing skills, returning to the manuscript whenever I could while other books took priority. It took six years to rewrite, but every revision brought it closer to the story I had always wanted it to be.
Finally, in 2026, Joanna’s Journey is back, and this time it’s here to stay.
