Meet Me At World’s End by Jordan Rivet

My Review

I expected this book to pick up after the first book with the same characters, but it didn’t. Instead it went back to before the comet hit and to another bunker. What made it more interesting is we met people who were briefly in the first book. I always like that, it’s a nice surprise.

The story gave me scary dreams with all the things it didn’t say. I dreamt it was the end of the world and I was running. I can’t remember a book effecting me to such an extent before.

Most of the story took place in the bunker as they prepared to put the selected to sleep for two hundred years in specially built tanks.

We all knew what was going outside the bunker as news filtered through. The world was crumbling and people became more desperate and scared. This played on my mind – hence the dreams.

Although this book could be read as a standalone, why would you? These first two are incredibly exciting together. They are literally books you can’t put down. I read Meet Me At World’s End over a couple of days.

I’m so excited to know there are two more, and can’t wait to follow the characters through their journey in the future – theirs and mine.

A killer comet speeds for Earth, big enough to wipe out all life and choke the atmosphere for a century. When the news breaks, soft-spoken freshman Charlotte Hartland gets caught in a flood of panicked students on her college campus—until a black SUV swoops in to extract her.

Charlotte’s powerful grandfather has saved her a cryosleep berth at the Bunker Reservation Project, a hastily formed effort to save humanity from extinction.

When the idealistic program begins to unravel, Charlotte will have to fight for her place in the future. But the only person who can help her is a hotheaded construction worker with a grudge against her family—and the clock is counting down to disaster.
