My Review
I read this over three days, most of it on Saturday when the weather was stormy. I cosied up in my chair with Radio 2 playing softly in the background and lost myself in this story. It was wonderful and the perfect way to enjoy a book.
We reached the climax of the series and I had no expectations, so I was completely enthralled. I loved the future it was set in—although I couldn’t pinpoint it exactly, I’d say around 2072. I adored the author’s ideas of the future. Little robots were part of everyday life and there were even robotic dogs!
Avril and Donavan, just like in the earlier books, connected and disconnected constantly. Neither of them was completely honest about their feelings. Sometimes I wanted to bang their heads together, but when they were in agreement, I loved their romance and relationship.
When they finally made it to London, the glimpse into the future was fascinating. I couldn’t guess which way the story would go, but what emerged I definitely didn’t see coming!
I should have guessed the ending. The whole story was told from Avril’s point of view, and the epilogue finally gave us Donavan’s. It was good to hear from him, but grrr, those two!
This was the end of a really good series and I can’t recommend it enough. High on adrenaline and emotion, it had the kind of twists and turns that make readers like me unable to stop until the very last page
Bravo 👏
