Brief Description – three groups of young people get caught up in the a tsunami and the flooding it caused.

In January I read The Landing by this author. It was a two book series about Aliens who had arrived unexpectedly on Earth. I really enjoyed it and signed up for the authors newsletter. The six book Reset series was advertised there and Flood was the first book
With chapters dedicated to three main characters they each tell the story from their point of view. They weren’t connected to each other and didn’t meet up.
Stevie, with his friend Gage, were hanging out on the beach with another friend when the wave came in. They headed to a high rise office block to escape the rising sea.
Adam and his girlfriend Eva, were going for a drive on his bike. He was going to break up with her and wanted to let her down gently. The storm rolled in and put an end to that plan.
Joss was celebrating her birthday with friends. They were travelling to a party when the storm hit. The earth shook with a violence never seen before. Out of the group of friends, only Jose and Caleb survived.
Each of them start their journey trying to survive in the relentless rain. On the way they meet others. The encounters bring out people’s true nature, and not always for the good.
This was a great story. I loved how different the protagonists were from each other. Some are strong and brave. Others are natural leaders. One admits he hasn’t a clue what he’s doing, and he feels useless. All of them are out of their depth.
I polished this book off quickly. It was under 300 pages and I continually wanted to find out what happened next.
A great story line that I recommend it.

They intended to save the planet but at the speed of light, the world catastrophically changed into a dark and deadly place. Millions of people lost their lives but for those who remained, the fight for their lives had only just begun.
No one could have been prepared for the disastrous events that followed The Reset. As those who remained worked to find a way to survive amid the destruction, others began a quest to take control of what was left. The race to survival is on, but in the end, will anyone win?
