Review of The Cabinet by C S Dixon

Brief Description – when a man gets invited into a house to shelter from the cold stormy night, he soon regrets his decision.

This is a short and rather terrifying story.

William Preston has a falling out with his sister and leaves in the cold dark night with a storm brewing. He soon becomes lost and this is where he meets Erasmus Barnes. What a great name that is!

The elderly man invites him into the boarded up bookshop to take shelter from the night.

What happens inside traps William into becoming a guardian of the cabinet.

The author has a such a way with words that you suddenly realise the story has taken a chilling turn. His descriptions paint a picture and it soon draws on your own fears.

If you are wondering about what the unassuming cabinet holds, it will not prepare you to face its contents.

I recommend the quick read story.

Blurb
