Having enjoyed books 1-3, this one continued at the same great pace.
The main characters all came together in the town Hannah and Liam were heading for in the previous books. There is a reunion with her husband, Noah, and young son Milo. As all the main characters congregate, there is a new enemy in the form of the militia, originally brought in to help,
This is a tense survival story with constant heartbreak as families fight for food whilst battling the freezing cold.
There are always people out for themselves, those who are greedy and selfish with no empathy for anyone. Some bury themselves so deep into corruption they can’t get out. Slowly as the hierarchy crumbles, the foot soldiers are out for what they can get. The battle for survival will continue.
Overall, this is a great series with strong likeable characters. I recommend these books for all post apocalyptic lovers.
