I was about to read a new series when I came across this. I remembered that the prequel in other series by the author and it’s meant to be read before book one. I’m so glad I did. What a great read this turned out to be!
I enjoyed the story of Scott who loses his job and the one he is offered is too good to be true. When it all goes wrong he has to pay the consequences. His slow realisation that he’d been betrayed fuels his anger for revenge. However, things take a turn that he or the reader wouldn’t expect.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story and it reminded me very much of the Murder and Mayhem series. That too started out as a normal book, then took a surprising twist. I highly recommend Nemesis if you want something a little different.
