My Review of The Lost Princess by Richard Dee

This was a free book that came with signing up for the author’s newsletter. I’ll put the link below.

What I loved about The Lost Princess was that it was ‘normal’ science fiction. What I mean is that Miles, the main character, was a normal guy, and a journalist. He lived in a tower block and was having an affair with his boss, Gaynor. The world of celebrity gossip was much the same as it is now. The only difference, and what made it so enjoyable, was the people of this future had access to different planets via space shuttles.

I loved the concept of that and it was like catching a plane and each planet offered something different. There was even one that held a prison. Everyone had normal lives and jobs, like the street vendor, and homelessness existed and was still a problem.

Generally, what I don’t like about science fiction books are the weird names with syllables you can’t get your tongue around. There was none of that here, just a great story with interesting twists.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Lost Princess is a prequel, and a complete story. It made me want to follow Miles to his next adventure, and maybe I will. I would recommend this for all readers, not just sci-fi lovers.
