100 Word Story #19 ‘David’ by Kazz Mossman

The #100wordstory is just that, exactly one hundred words long.

If you have a story that fits this criteria. Email me, I would love to feature you.

David

On our wedding day, David and I swore we’d stay together forever. Forty-eight years later, we hadn’t planned on death.

One year later, I awoke in the night as if someone had nudged me. The clock said 4.44am. In the morning I caught the train and realised it was the 4.44 to London. I chatted to a passenger, and she said, “It means your Guardian Angel is trying to reach you. Have you lost anyone recently?”

I googled it, and what I read made me believe David was still at my side. He had never left. I just needed faith.
